Nacel Canada offers international students the opportunity to study at a Canadian High School while staying with a carefully selected host family. Host families provide full room and board and Nacel Canada’s local coordinator provides continuous support throughout the program.
Destinations in Saskatchewan
Regina, the Capital City of Saskatchewan, is located in the southern portion of the province. The city is home to the largest legislative building in Canada and hosts the world renowned Royal Canadian Mounted Police Training Academy and RCMP Heritage Centre.
In the heart of the city you will find Wascana Centre – a 2300-acre urban park, a pristine view of the Saskatchewan Legislature, marina, walking paths, bird watching venues, park area, tennis courts, picnic and BBQ sites. The park also accommodates the Saskatchewan Science Centre and Kramer Imax Theatre, the MacKenzie Art Gallery, and the Royal Saskatchewan Museum
Aside from the many attractions, Regina is also rich in resources as agriculture, tourism, and oil and gas production fuel the economy.
Miller Comprehensive High School, Regina
Miller Comprehensive High School, in addition to a full academic program, offers a number of Practical and Applied Arts classes. Students are able to take classes in Cosmetology, Commercial Cooking, Construction, Welding, and Automotives. Advanced Placement Courses include Studio Art, Psychology, English Literature & Composition, Computer Science, and Calculus. Extra-curricular activities can include Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Cross Country, Curling, Football, Hockey and much more. Fine arts programs are also available.
Archbishop M.C. O’Neill High School, Regina
Archbishop M.C. O’Neill High School is a full service, dual-track (French and English) semester high school with mainstream and modified programming. In addition to the mainstream classes O’Neil offers: Advanced Placement classes to students an opportunity to receive academic enrichment and the opportunity to pursue college level studies. A wide range of athletic activities are offered and may include: Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Curling, Football, Golf, Hockey, Soccer, Softball, Track & Field, Volleyball, Wrestling. O’Neil is well known also for outstanding fine arts programs of Choir, Drama, and Improvisational Team.
Michael A. Riffel Catholic High School, Regina
Michael A. Riffel Catholic High School is located in the Northwest corner of Regina. The current enrolment is approximately 700 students. Since opening in 1985, Riffel has developed a strong tradition in academic, athletic, and fine art excellence. The school maintains a distinctly Catholic understanding and interpretation of provincial curricula, integrating faith into teaching.
The City of Moose Jaw is located 77 km West of Regina. Residents of Moose Jaw are known as Moose Javians. It has a small town atmosphere with all of the modern facilities. Besides Moose Jaw’s tourist appeal, it serves as a hub to the hundreds of small towns and farms in the surrounding region of Saskatchewan.
Moose Jaw is also home to the Snowbirds demonstration team of the Royal Canadian Air Force. The clear blue skies of Saskatchewan make this ideal location for flight training and exercises.
Cornerstone Collegiate, Moose Jaw
Cornerstone Christian School is located only 45 minutes west of Regina, in the community of Moose Jaw which has a small town atmosphere, with all the modern facilities.Cornerstone School strives for excellence in all areas and values academic excellence with a global Christian perspective. The school offers the regular curriculum in the High school core subjects: English, Mathematics, Sciences, Social and we also offer strong programs in athletics, drama, and music. With many Extra-curricular activities that may include : Athletics, Volleyball, Basketball, Drama, Choir & Band, Ski trip, and an Optional volunteer trip (every year destination changes).
Nacel Canada offers continuous support to participants. A local Coordinator will work with each individual student, including arranging their homestay and acting as contact throughout the program.
