Destinations in Nova Scotia

As the capital of Nova Scotia and the largest city in the Atlantic provinces, Halifax is the major centre of the Maritimes. With its steep streets, stunning harbour, and the famous Citadel overlooking the city, Halifax is world-renowned for its beauty and character.  Visitors are treated to a city with a close connection to the sea, and Halifax thrives on its maritime history having one of the world’s largest natural harbours. Halifax is also a gateway to many of the other treasures that Nova Scotia has to offer.

High School Credit Programs in Nova Scotia

Nacel Canada HSP is pleased to offer opportunities to attend two prestigious private schools located in Nova Scotia.  Students who successfully complete credit programs may apply their credits towards subsequent school grades or use them to apply for entrance to college or university.

Armbrae Academy, Halifax

Ambrae Academy, a private school founded in 1887, is located across the street from Dalhousie University. Ambrae Academy believes that sports enrich the student’s life.  All through out the year different sports are introduced to all grade levels. Ambrae Academy has small class sizes, a great sense of community, an inclusive approach to sports, outstanding academic programs including drama and the arts, and year long courses (rather than semester based learning).

Newbridge Academy, Dartmouth

Starting in September of 2017, Newbridge Academy will have moved into its brand new, 72,000 square foot facility in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The new facility will include an indoor turf field for soccer, baseball and golf, a cafeteria/auditorium for performing arts, and a 7,000 square foot training space for ProEdge Sports Conditioning.

Adjacent to the new facility is the Dartmouth Multi-Pad, a four pad ice arena approximately 138,000 sq.ft. in size. One of the ice surfaces is a feature rink with seating to accommodate 300 spectators. The same rink will be equipped with a sound system for special events. The facility will be integrated with the existing All-Weather Sports Fields.

Newbridge Academy will be utilizing the Multi-Pad for its acclaimed hockey program, which allowed it to become the first educational institution in Nova Scotia to obtain the coveted Hockey Canada Sports School designation.

Newbridge students experience high-level hands-on academic learning that is combined with both daily physical activity and leading technologies that make for enjoyable days for every student at every level. Every student will have a tablet computer loaded with the course and reading materials they will require for their academic classes.

Teachers deliver an enriched academic curriculum and enjoy the professional freedom to deliver it in a manner that reaches each student on an individual level by employing a variety of proven teaching methods. This enables the teachers to provide students with the challenges they need while creating a fun and safe learning environment.
